Danielle Julian, BSN, RN

Oncology Nurse Leader ePRO & Digital Symptom Monitoring SME

Portrait of Danielle Julian

From patient-reported data to better systems of care.

I lead the design, implementation, and scale of electronic patient-reported outcomes and digital symptom monitoring programs—translating evidence into practical, sustainable workflows that work for patients, caregivers, clinicians, and health systems.

Where patient voice, clinical expertise, and operational reality meet.

Areas of Expertise

  • Electronic Patient-Reported Outcomes

Designing and operationalizing ePRO programs that bring patient-reported symptoms and experiences into routine clinical care.

  • Digital Symptom Monitoring

Building scalable monitoring models that support timely response, patient engagement, and proactive symptom management.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Co-Design

Bringing patients, caregivers, outreach coordinators, navigators, nurses, APPs, physicians, pharmacists, IT partners, and health-system leaders together to design programs that work in real-world care.

  • Patient Experience & Care Navigation

Creating systems that improve how patients move through complex care while keeping communication, access, coordination, and experience at the center.

  • Implementation, Scale & Sustainability

Translating evidence-based interventions into practical workflows that can be implemented, measured, refined, and sustained across complex healthcare environments.

Featured Work

Building programs that work beyond the pilot.

Successful ePRO programs require more than technology. They depend on thoughtful workflows, clear roles, engaged stakeholders, meaningful metrics, and systems that fit the realities of clinical care.

  • Scaling ePROs in Oncology

Designing and expanding electronic symptom monitoring across oncology populations while balancing patient needs, clinical workflows, technology, staffing, and operational capacity.

  • Designing With the People Who Do the Work

Engaging patients, caregivers, frontline teams, navigators, pharmacists, IT partners, and leaders early enough that implementation reflects both the lived experience of care and the realities of delivering it.

  • From Evidence to Implementation

Bridging the gap between research evidence and routine clinical practice through workflow development, stakeholder engagement, implementation strategy, and continuous improvement.

My Approach

Better systems are built together.

I believe sustainable healthcare transformation happens when everyone who touches the work has a seat at the table.

Patients and caregivers understand the lived experience. Nurses, APPs, physicians, pharmacists, navigators, and outreach teams understand how care actually happens. IT partners understand what the technology can support. Operational and executive leaders understand what it takes to resource, sustain, and scale change.

My role is often at the intersection of those perspectives—bringing people together, translating across disciplines, and helping turn evidence-based ideas into workflows that are clinically meaningful, operationally realistic, and centered on the people they are meant to serve.

Speaking & Publications

Sharing what we learn along the way.

My work includes presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, panels, and collaborative discussions focused on electronic patient-reported outcomes, digital symptom monitoring, oncology navigation, patient experience, stakeholder engagement, and implementation.

  • ASCO Quality Care Symposium

First-author abstract and poster presentation focused on oncology ePRO implementation and patient engagement.

  • Patient-Reported Outcomes Center of Excellence

Presentations and collaborative work focused on scaling electronic symptom monitoring across health systems.

  • Research & Publications

Collaborative scholarship related to ePROs, symptom monitoring, implementation, and patient-centered oncology care.

  • Health-System & Stakeholder Presentations

Presentations for clinical teams, operational leaders, research partners, patient and family advisors, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.

About Danielle

Connecting people, evidence, and implementation.

I’m an oncology nurse leader whose career has moved from direct patient care and navigation into program development, patient experience, digital health, and large-scale implementation.

That progression has shaped how I approach change in healthcare.

The best ideas do not succeed simply because the evidence is strong or the technology is available. They succeed when the people affected by the work help shape it—and when the resulting workflows make sense in everyday care.

My work focuses on creating that alignment: bringing together patient experience, clinical expertise, operational needs, technology, and evidence to build programs that can make a meaningful and sustainable difference.

Better care requires more than a good idea.

It requires the right people, the right evidence, and the right systems working together.

I’m always interested in connecting with others working in patient-reported outcomes, digital health, oncology care delivery, implementation, patient experience, and healthcare transformation.
